Working Principle
The core principle of the hydraulic belt-tracking device is to convert the mechanical energy caused by belt misalignment into hydraulic energy via a hydraulic system, which then drives the tracking mechanism to restore the conveyor belt to its proper position. The operational process is as follows:
Deviation detection: When the conveyor belt deviates from the centerline, its edge comes into contact with the detector drive roller (or detection roller) in the device.
Power conversion: The drive roller rotates under the frictional action of the conveyor belt, driving the connected oil pump to convert mechanical energy into hydraulic energy and deliver high-pressure oil.
Hydraulic actuation: High-pressure oil is delivered through hydraulic lines into a hydraulic cylinder (or a composite cylinder), driving the piston to move.
Correction mechanism: The reciprocating motion of the piston causes the self-aligning idler (or correction idler) to deflect, creating a certain angle between the idler’s linear motion direction and the conveyor belt’s travel direction. The resulting frictional force then drives the conveyor belt toward the centerline, thereby correcting belt misalignment.
Automatic reset: Once the conveyor belt returns to its normal position, the detection and drive roller disengages from the belt, the oil pump shuts down, and the hydraulic cylinder is returned to its original position by the reset mechanism (such as a spring), ready for the next deviation correction.
